Haruspex, picking at culture's guts.

I am a 25 year old design student from Winnipeg, Manitoba. In some ways, I am also a retired archaeologist, but that takes some explaining. I'm into culture, not just trends and pop-culture, but the meat of culture(s). I'm obsessed with how they interact across the globe, how they are stratified, and what it means to be a social being in a culture that we all help to shape but don't really control. I'm also into fine art, illustration, sci-fi, games and other interactive media, post-apocalyptic futures, technology, bad-ass robots bristling with firepower... and long walks in the woods.
Ask me anything

I agree. I too have been analyzing the Canada logo on an Olympics ad at my bus stop for the passed month or so. I pointed out to my girlfriend that the letter shapes were modified and aesthetically positioned. I also noted that they used Futura within the ad because of it’s round similarities to the Canada font. Anyway, I am currently single.

I love the clothing Canadian athletes and staff are wearing this year, especially the wordmark.  They’re using a modified ITC Avant Garde and I think it looks great.  I’d like to see it replacing the ol’ http://www.pnwer.org/Portals/33/Canada%20Logo.JPG ;)

Fonts… they make or break a relationship.
